The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully funded, full-time, postgraduate award that enables talented young people from around the world to study at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. The Rhodes Scholarships for West Africa offer two scholarships each year.

Applicants must:

• be a citizen of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, the island of Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone, São Tomé and Príncipe or Togo.
• have been resident in one or more of the countries listed above for at least five of the last ten years.
• meet age requirements.
   

The Rhodes Scholarship covers Oxford University course fees, as well as providing an annual stipend. Funding duration is dependent on the length of the course, e.g. PhD funding is available for 3 years.
